LATICRETE® 290 Premium Floor and Wall Thin-set Adhesive PRODUCT DESCRIPTION LATICRETE® 290 Premium Floor and Wall Thin Set Adhesive is a high performance bagged cementitious powder to install ceramic tile, Vitrified tiles and natural stone using the thin-set method of installation. Application Designed for interior installation of ceramic tile, vitrified tile and natural stone for walls and floors. Can also be used for shaded balconies, podiums, verandas and terrace gardens which are not directly exposed to sun for most part of the day. *For all other exterior installation of tiles/stones with Laticrete® 290, use Laticrete® 73 /Laticrete® 4237/ Laticrete® 333 Admix instead of water. Always use LATICRETE® latex additives when temperatures approach freezing. •Adhesives/mastics, mortars and grouts for ceramic tile, pavers, brick and stone are not designed as replacements for waterproof membranes. When a waterproof membrane is required, use a LATICRETE®9237 / Hydroban Waterproof Membrane. Note: Surfaces must be structurally sound, stable and rigid enough to support ceramic tile/vitrified tile/stone, thin brick and similar finishes. Substrate deflection under all live, dead and impact loads, including concentrated loads, must not exceed L/360 for thin bed ceramic tile/vitrified tile/brick installations or L/480 for thin bed stone installations where L=span length. NOTE TO THE SPECIFIER AND INSTALLER: While installing tile/stone on the external walls and floors, we need to provide the movement joints by creating spaces between the tiles/stones and filling them up with cement based grout mixed with L1776 grout admix plus or silicone sealants. It is also important to note the following:  The exterior tile / stone installations are provided with joints (spaces) on the periphery of the area without allowing the tile / stone to be bound by the peripheral masonry work or plaster.  The tiles/stones must not be installed directly on expansion joints. The expansion joints need to be run through the tile / stone work till top surface and filled with materials which accommodate the movements. Cautions •Contains Portland cement and silica sand. May irritate eyes and skin. Avoid contact with eyes or prolonged contact with skin. In case of contact, flush thoroughly with water. •Do not take internally. INSTALLATION Surface Preparation All surfaces should be between 40 °F (4°C) and 104 °F (40°C) and structurally sound, clean and free of all dirt, oil, grease, loose peeling paint, laitance, concrete sealers or curing compounds. Rough or uneven concrete surfaces should be made smooth with LATICRETE® Latex Portland Cement underlayment to provide a wood float (or better) finish. Dry, dusty concrete slabs or masonry should be dampened and excess water swept off. Installation may be made on a damp surface. New concrete slabs shall be damp cured and 28 days* old before application. *No minimum cure time for concrete slabs when thin-set adhesive is mixed with latex additive. All slabs must be plumb and true to within ¼” (6mm) in 10 ft (3m). Expansion joints shall be provided through the tile work from all construction or expansion joints in the substrate. Follow ANSI Specification AN-3.8 “Requirements for Expansion Joints” or TCA Detail EJ171 “Expansion Joints”. Do not cover expansion joints with mortar. Cement Backer Board: follow TCA installation detail W244. Note: 1. Installer must verify that deflection under all live, dead and impact loads of interior plywood floors does not exceed industry standards of L/360 for ceramic tile and brick or L/480 for stone installations where L=span length; Mixing Stir LATICRETE® Admix thoroughly before use. Place clean, potable water or LATICRETE® latex admix into a clean pail. Add LATICRETE® 290 powder slowly in to the same pail. Use approximately 6 to 7 Liters of Laticrete® 333 or 5 to 6 Liters water for 20 kg of powder. Mix by hand or with a slow speed mixer to a smooth, trowelable consistency. Allow adhesive to slake for 5- 10 minutes. Adjust consistency if necessary. Remix and apply with the proper sized notched trowel. Note: For improved bond strength, flexibility and for exterior installations use LATICRETE® 73 Crete Admix/ LATICRETE® 333 Super Flexible Admix. Application Apply adhesive to the substrate with the flat side of the trowel, pressing firmly to work into surface. Comb on additional adhesive with the notched side. Use the proper sized notched trowel to insure full bedding of the tile. Spread as much adhesive as can be covered with tile in 10 minutes. Back butter large tiles (> 12”x12”) to provide full bedding and firm support. Place tiles into wet, sticky adhesive and beat in using a beating block or rubber mallet to imbed tile and adjust level. Check adhesive for complete coverage by periodically removing a tile and inspecting bedding adhesive transfer onto back of tile. If adhesive is skinned over (not sticky), remove and replace with fresh adhesive. Grouting Grout installation after a minimum of 24 hours curing time at 70 F (21 C). Grout with LATICRETE® Sanded or Unsanded Grout mixed with LATICRETE® 1776 Grout Admix Plus. For maximum stain resistance use SpectraLOCK® Pro Premium OR LATAPOXY® SP-100 Stainfree Grout. Cold Weather Note: The setting of Portland cement adhesives and grouts are retarded by low temperatures. Protect finished work for an extended period when installing in cold weather. For faster setting adhesive use XTRABOND FSA 336 OR LATICRETE® 73 (Rapid) Crete admix with LATICRETE® 111 Crete filler powder. Do not set tile when surface temperature is below freezing point or when substrate is frozen. Hot Weather Note: The evaporation of moisture in Portland cement adhesives and grouts is accelerated by hot, dry conditions. PolyGlaze Tile Grout

“PolyGlaze Tile Grout” is a white cement-based, polymermodified grout that produces hard dense joints that are resistant to shrinkage and cracking and can be used to fill tile joints on walls and floors with a minimum width of 1mm to a maximum width of 12 mm for both interior and exterior applications. Special Properties of “PolyGlaze Tile Grout”: Wide joint bridging. Good Water resistance – can be used both indoor and outdoor tile grouting. Excellent workability, smooth and easy to spread and easy clean-up. Exceptional color stability. Non-shrinking and high stain resistance. Being Polymer modified it enhances durability and helps to achieve a more robust, waterproof and flexible grout finish. Areas of use : “Polyglaze Tile Grout can be used in conjunction with Polyglaze Tile Adhesive (although not necessary) for grouting all types of Ceramic & Vitrified tiles, Mosaics, Porcelain, Quarry tiles, Bricks, Pavers, Slate and Natural stones. It may be used for interior and exterior- Floor, Wall and Ceilings. Being water resistant, Polyglaze Tile Grout can also be used for grouting wet areas like Swimming pools, power shower enclosures, etc. Surface Preparation : Ensure the tile adhesive has fully set before grouting. The surface should be clean, dry and free from dust, grease, oil, loose materials, adhesive residue and other contaminates. If required, clean the surface with a damp cloth or sponge. It is advisable to moisten the joints before applying the grout so as to assist the spread of the grout. Preparation of “PolyGlaze Tile Grout”: Take a small amount of water in a bucket and gradually add “Polyglaze Tile Grout”. Mix thoroughly in the ratio of approximately 3 parts of the product to 1 part of water by volume till a smooth paste is obtained. No further water should be added after final mixing. After proper mixing, leave the paste for 5-10 minutes for polymeric dispersion before application. Protect the paste from direct sunlight, heat and use within 45 minutes of preparation. Application of “PolyGlaze Tile Grout”: After grout is mixed, use a rubber bottomed grout float to scoop the grout from the bucket. Then completely fill the tile joints with “Polyglaze Tile Grout” with the aid of a rubber grouting trowel diagonally without leaving any void or gaps. Work in small areas at a time. Remove excess grout from the surface as the work proceeds by drawing the float diagonally across the joints. When grouting external areas, protect during and after application. For Initial cleaning, allow 15 minutes for the grout to firm up before cleaning off excess with a damp sponge, rinsing the sponge frequently in between with water. The Final cleaning of the residual grout film on the surface of the tiles can be done using a clean dry cloth for buffing and polishing the tiles. Do’s about “PolyGlaze Tile Grout”: Ensure 24 hours time interval for grouting after tile fixing. For light traffic flow areas, allow grout to set for approximately 12 hours For best results, use spacers and keep a minimum of 2mm joints between the tiles. Don’ts about “PolyGlaze Tile Grout”: Don’t add too much water, it will weaken the grout. Don’t leave any excess moisture on the surface of the grout joints which may cause efflorescence on drying. Useful Tips : “Polyglaze Tile Grout” should be stored in a dry place. Keep out of reach of the children. Avoid inhalation of dust. In case of contact with eyes, rinse eyes with plenty of water and consult a doctor immediately. Color: “PolyGlaze Tile Grout” is available in choice of various colors. PolyGlaze Crack ‘O’ Fill

“PolyGlaze Crack ‘O’ Fill ” is a white cement based ready to use mortar for filling the cracks in plastered surfaces. It gives excellent bonding, easy to apply, water resistant and highly durable. It can be used for the Repairing of internal cracks in plastered surfaces up to 3 mm width & 3 mm depth. Features & Benefits: Application – Easily applicable by putty knife like conventional putties. Adhesion – Excellent adhesion to common building substrates other than glass. Cohesiveness – Non–sagging. Flexibility – Flexible & hence can accommodate minor movements in cracks. Staining – Non-staining. Appearance – White powder form. Painting – Over coatable with any kinds of polymer based paints after 24 hours. Toxicity – Non–toxic & safe to hands. Eco-friendly – Water based, having negligible VOC, hence eco-friendly. Method of Application: Clean the crack from any kind of dust, loose particles, grease, oils, wax, polish etc. The edges of the cracks/joints should be neat & sound. Make sure the surface is free from puddle of water. Moisten the crack-surface before applying Crack ‘O’ Fill Paste. Fine hairline cracks must be widened up to 1 mm minimum followed by filling. For filling Crack ‘O’ Fill Paste on the internal surface – existing painter’s putty or POP must be removed till plaster surface is exposed. For porous surfaces, apply primer coat prepared with Crack ‘O’ Fill Paste & water in 1:1 proportion over the crack. Fill Crack ‘O’ Fill Paste when the surface is moist but not completely dry. Press Crack ‘O’ Fill Paste into the cracks using a putty knife. Level the surface with a putty knife to get smooth & clean surface. Care must be taken to avoid formation of cavities/bubbles during application. Further coat of Crack ‘O’ Fill Paste is undertaken after 24 hours of the application, when the first coat of Crack ‘O’ Fill Paste is completely cured. Painter’s putty or POP can be used once it is fully dry. For best results allow Crack ‘O’ Fill Paste to cure for 3-4days. Usage Precautions : Strictly not recommended to fill cracks of more than 5 mm Strictly not recommended for filling structural cracks, expansion joints, separation gaps etc. or any type of dynamic cracks. PolyGlaze XT – Flex

“PolyGlaze XT – Flex (Grey/White)” is a multipurpose cementitious ready-mix powder, which is thin-bed and a high tensile polymer modified product. Its unique properties make it ideal for fixing tiles & natural stones like granite, marble on plywood, metal surface and wall cladding. Special Properties of “PolyGlaze XT - Flex”: Ready to mix, single component product. Preparation is simple, just add water. Although cement based, requires no curing. It can be used in damp areas. Very high tensile adhesion strength. It is suitable for heavy duty application with moderate structural movements. It is suitable for fibre cement boards, wooden floor for both interior and exteriar surfaces. Grouting is possible on the same day. Polymer modified formulation enhances its durability. Being ready to use, the product saves considerable time and labour. Areas of Use: To fix wall and floor tiles, natural stones like granite, marble on seasoned wood, metal surface, heavy duty applications like wall cladding at vertical surface. Cementitious screeds. Cement Mortar beds. Bathrooms and kitchens. Fixing the facades. Swimming pools. Surface Preparation : The surface should be clean, dry, and free from dust, grease / oil and other contaminates. Concrete Floors and Walls : Allow at least 4 weeks for concrete to cure prior to tiling. Screeds must be 5-7 days old and properly cured. The surface should be properly leveled for best results of “PolyGlaze XT – Flex”. Remove curing compounds, if any, from the surface. Existing Tiles: Existing tiles must be roughened mechanically with wire brush. Painted Surfaces: Oil-based paint should be removed by roughening mechanically and loose flaking paint should be removed completely. Allow the surface to dry after cleaning. Fibre Cement Sheets: Fibre cement sheets must be primed with water and all joints must be taped with PVC duct tape and fixed according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Preparation of “PolyGlaze XT - Flex”: Take a small amount of water in a bucket and gradually add “PolyGlaze XT – Flex” in it. Mix the product with water in the ratio of approximately 1:4. Mixing can be done manually or by stirrer. Mixing to be done till homogenous lump free mix is obtained. After proper mixing, leave the paste for 5-10 minutes for polymeric dispersion before application. The paste should be kept away from direct sunlight, heat and used within 30 minutes of preparation (after mixing with water). Do’s about “PolyGlaze XT - Flex”: Before fixing the tiles, natural stones etc., clean the backsides of these with wet cloth to remove all dust particles. Apply a layer of adhesive on the substrate and spread it by notch trowel. Lay the tiles/stones and press firmly. Then knock properly with rubber hammer in order to spread the adhesive equally and for a good contact. Remove any surplus adhesive on the face of the tiles. Any adjustment should be done within 15-20 minutes and before adhesive starts hardening. Wait for at least 12 hours before grouting for better contact. Don’ts about “PolyGlaze XT - Flex”: Avoid very high speed mixing when electric mixing equipments are used. Coverage : 50 – 60 sq.ft per 20 Kg. bag with notch trowel for a bed of 3 – 4 mm thickness. Please note that coverage will depend upon the undulation of base substrate and thickness of material used. Useful Tips : “PolyGlaze XT – Flex” should be stored in a dry place. It is recommended that when fixing tiles, a minimum spacing of 3mm should be left around each tile. Excess adhesive should be removed using a damp sponge or cloth before material has set. Floors will be ready to receive light foot traffic after 24 hours and can be put into full use after 72 hours. Although “PolyGlaze XT – Flex” is non-hazardous, following precautions should be adhered: Keep out of reach of the children. Avoid inhalation of dust. In case of contact with eyes, rinse eyes with plenty of water and consult a doctor immediately. Preparations of “PolyGlaze Repair Mortar” Take a small amount of water in a bucket and gradually add “PolyGlaze Repair Mortar” in it. Mix the product with water in the ratio of approximately 1:4. Mixing can be done manually or by stirrer. Mixing to be done till homogenous lump free mix is obtained. After proper mixing, leave the paste for 5-10 minutes for polymeric dispersion before application. The paste should be kept away from direct sunlight, heat and used within 30 minutes of preparation (after mixing with water). Application of “PolyGlaze Repair Mortar”: Laying bricks/blocks : Put a thin layer of PolyGlaze Repair Mortar in the thickness of 3-4 mm on the clean and leveled surface using proper trowel on which the block work is to be carried out. After placing the first block apply the PolyGlaze Repair Mortar of the same thickness i.e. 3-4 mm for both horizontal and vertical joint of the block. Filling the Cracks/Joints : All substrate should be clean and free from dust, oil, grease, curing agents, paints, which may affect the adhesion. Wet the substrate before the application, without leaving excess water. Spread the PolyGlaze Repair Mortar across the whole surface using the trowel and work thoroughly into the cracks. Make sure the crack should not be more than 12 mm. Minor Plastering : Pre wet the surface before starting the plastering work. Spread the PolyGlaze Repair Mortar on the surface and then level the surface using leveler for smooth finish. Precaution & Limitations: Cannot be used for crack size of more than 12 mm. Not usable in cracks of structural membranes, expansion joints & separation gaps. Not suitable for the cracks in POP walls. Don’t reuse the brushed off material. Useful Tips : Keep out of reach of the children. Avoid inhalation of dust. In case of contact with eyes, rinse eyes with plenty of water & consult doctor immediately.
